OUR BELIEFS

OUR BELIEFS

(which serve as key elements of our faith at Trinity Church)

      1. The Bible
We believe that the Bible is God’s Holy Word and written revelation to man. We believe God inspired the original writings of the Scripture, and therefore, the Bible is completely trustworthy in all its parts. We accept the Bible as the final written authority for all matters of faith and practice.
      2. God
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and all things visible and invisible.
      3. Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s one and only Son, our one and only Savior. Jesus was born both fully human and fully divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, suffered and was crucified. Jesus died and was buried, and rose again bodily from the dead on the third day. Jesus ascended into Heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father and will return to earth to judge both the living and the dead.
      4. The Holy Spirit
We believe God’s sovereign grace and mercy, regenerate sinful men by the power of the Holy Spirit, bringing them to new life. The Holy Spirit enables the sinner to respond in faith and repentance. As a result, they are led to exercise faith by believing in Christ and turning from their sins into love for God.
      5. Trinity
We believe the Holy Bible teaches that there is a unity of three distinct Persons who share this one being of God, eternally existing: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are one true, eternal God, one in essence, equal in power and glory.
      6. Man
We believe that man was created by God in His image and likeness for God’s purpose and glory. However, man rebelled against God and fell into sin. As a result, man lost his innocence, received the penalty of spiritual and physical death, became subject to the wrath of God, and became intrinsically corrupt, utterly incapable and unwilling of choosing or doing that which is acceptable to God. Man has no recuperative powers to enable himself to redemption, leaving man hopelessly lost, because all have sinned, atonement must be made in order for man to be reconciled to God.
      7. Salvation
We believe that salvation is given to us only through the blood of Jesus Christ and by God’s grace. Sovereign God sent Jesus Christ to complete atonement for His people through His substitutionary atoning death on the cross. Jesus Christ imputes His righteousness to all believers securing full justification, sanctification, and glorification, for all who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. So we must respond to God by repenting our sins and trusting Jesus as Savior and Lord.
      8. The Church
We believe Jesus Christ established His Church, which is made up of all those who have been redeemed by God. God appointed Jesus Christ to be head over everything for the church, and the church is the body of Christ. Therefore, the Church is called to live in the power of the Holy Spirit, under the authority of the Holy Scriptures, preaching the gospel of Christ, doing the work of evangelism and discipleship, until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
